Schakowsky Applauds Latest Job Numbers

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky is applauding the latest jobs numbers, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.

Skokie Democrat Jan Schakowsky says the lower unemployment figures are welcome as far as they go, which isn't quite far enough.

"What we saw were good numbers in the private sector but we also a continuing job loss in the public sector and many economists are saying this is the time that we should not be contracting the size of government with things like the sequester because that is really holding the economy from taking off in really big numbers," said Schakowsky.

The Congresswoman spoke as she was hosting her annual Women's' Power Lunch which drew a ballroom full of women with power in the public and private sector.
