Scandal-Plagued Metra Board May Lose Another Member
(CBS) -- Another Metra board member may be on the verge of being forced from his seat.
The Tribune is reporting that Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is demanding the resignation of Metra board member Stanley Rakestraw, whom she appointed to the post.
WBBM's Bob Roberts reports that Rakestraw is one of the newer members of the Metra board.
Stanley Rakestraw was appointed to represent suburban Cook County on Metra's board. He served for two and a half years and is a member of its audit and financing committee.
He has done financial auditing, managed a nursing home and is a co-founder and chief operating officer of SCR Medical Transportation, which is under contract to pace to provide paratransit services throughout the six county area.
When appointed, he lived in Flossmoor. If he resigns, the Metra will have the bare minimum of six members needed for a quorum.
