Sandusky To Costas: 'I Shouldn't Have Showered With Those Kids'
(CBS) -- Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant football coach accused of sexually abusing young boys, insists he is innocent of the charges against him but concedes he "shouldn't have showered with those kids."
The man at the center of the scandal that has rocked the Penn State football program and campus talked with Bob Costas in an interview that was slated to air Monday night on NBC.
Sandusky, who was associated with a program to help young people, is accused of abusing several boys. One allegation is that he sexually assaulted one of the victims in the showers at Penn State.
"I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact," Sandusky is quoted as telling Costas.
The scandal brought about the firing of iconic Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who is among college officials who may have covered up for Sandusky.
