San Diego Roommates Found 600 Chris Denorfia Bobbleheads Near Doorstep
(CBS) Apparently, free agent outfielder Chris Denorfia -- who played for the Cubs in 2015 -- leaves a legacy wherever he goes.
Even if it emerges later than expected.
In an odd story out of San Diego, a group of roommates recently found a shipment of 600 Denorfia bobbleheads bearing his likeness as a Padre near their front doorstep, NBC 7 in San Diego reported. There was no explanation for this, with the residents calling the police, who said there were no reports of Denorfia bobbleheads gone missing, NBC 7 reported.
"We thought it was from a drug cartel or something," roommate Jalena Lau told NBC 7. "But when we went through them they were just regular bobble heads."
The friends have been handing the bobbleheads out as party favors since.
Denorfia played for the Padres from 2010-'14. He signed a one-year deal with the Cubs last January and hit .269 with three homers and 18 RBIs in 103 games in 2015.
It's unclear if the Cubs will bring Denorfia back for 2016.
