Sam: Boozer Has Almost Accepted His Fate

(WSCR) Carlos Boozer's lack of production on the defensive end has been well documented.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau has been forced to sit the $80 million man in key situations because he's become such a defensive liability.

"At this point, we have to accept him for what he is," Aggrey Sam of Comcast Sportsnet told The Mully and Hanley Show. "There are going to be some matchups that he's going to struggle with, whether it's a size matchup or a speed matchup.

Sam said Boozer has almost begun to accept his role on the team.

"You have to keep Carlos thinking positive and maybe avoid being too down on him when he's making those defensive lapses," Sam said. "At the same time, he has to see, 'When I'm coming out of this game, I'm a $15-, $16-million player, a two-time All Star. Why am I not in during the fourth quarter? He knows. He knows at this point. He just accepts it."
