Sale Solid As Sox Beat Astros 5-1 In Exhibition
HOUSTON (AP) — Chris Sale had another solid outing in his transition from the bullpen to the rotation and the Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros 5-1 in an exhibition game on Tuesday night.
Sale (2-1) struck out six in four innings and was charged with one run and three hits. The left-hander gave up one run and struck out seven in six innings in his last start.
The 23-year-old Sale, who has appeared in 79 games as a reliever, will make his first major league start when his spot in the rotation comes up.
Jordan Schafer was back in center field for the Astros and appeared to be fully recovered from a hand injury that had kept him out for more than two weeks.
