Sale, Crain Of the Sox, Cubs' Wood Picked For All Star Game
CHICAGO (CBS) -- White Sox pitchers Chris Sale and Jesse Crain and Travis Wood of the Cubs were picked for the 2013 All Star Game.
White Sox starter Chris Sale will be making his second straight appearance at the Midsummer Classic. Sale has a 5-7 record and 2.79 ERA to go along with 114 strikeouts and a 0.96 whip.
Reliever Jesse Crain has a .74 earned-run average in 36.2 innings pitched. He also has 19 holds and a 1.15 whip. Crain is currently on the 15-day disabled list.
Travis Wood will be the Cubs lone representative at the game. Wood has a 5-6 record, 2.69 ERA and 0.98 whip.
The MLB All Star Game will take place on July 16 at Citi Field.
