Saints Retain TE Josh Hill By Matching Bears' Offer For Him
(CBS) The Bears' focus on bolstering their tight end position after the recent trade of Martellus Bennett hit a roadblock Friday, at least temporarily.
New Orleans has retained restricted free-agent tight end Josh Hill by matching Chicago's three-year offer sheet at an undisclosed amount. The Saints had until Sunday to exercise their right of first refusal.
The 25-year-old Hill visited the Bears earlier in the week. He had 16 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns with the Saints last season.
Chicago recently re-signed tight ends Zach Miller and Rob Housler, adding them to a roster that also includes Khari Lee and Gannon Sinclar.
