Rose's Text To LeBron
Over the offseason, players and team representatives flocked to LeBron James to try and recruit him to their teams. Unlike them, Derrick Rose remained mostly silent.
But his perceived silence wasn't because he didn't want to play with James.
In a recent Sports Illustrated feature article, Lee Jenkins profiled the Bulls' superstar and got to the bottom of Rose's silence during the chaotic NBA free agency over the summer.
"I'm just hitting you up to kill all the rumors that I don't want to play with you," Rose said to James via text message. "I'd like to play with you. I just want to win."
While James responded to the text and showed respect and appreciation towards Rose, as we all know he later took his talents to South Beach.
In the two matchups this season between the Bulls and Heat, the Bulls are 2-0 and Rose has combined for 60 points and 14 assists. James missed the first game, but scored 29 points and added 10 rebounds in the second game.
The Bulls sit one game behind the Heat in the Eastern Conference, and two games behind the first-place Boston Celtics.
