Rosenthal: Danks Has Been A 'Victim Of Poor Run Support'
CHICAGO (WSCR) Through his first 10 starts of the 2011 season, Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks has seven decisions, and they're all losses. But his 0-7 record is nowhere near indicative of the season that he's having so far.
"He's not pitching that badly," Ken Rosenthal, of FOX Sports, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "And won-loss record doesn't reflect a lot. A lot of times it reflects poor run support, and he's certainly been a victim of poor run support."
The White Sox have averaged 2.7 runs scored during each of Danks' starts. They've scored more than four runs only once, and been shutout twice.

"He is not pitching as well as he has in the past: 4.34 ERA, his walks are up, his hits are up, home runs are up, strike outs down," Rosenthal said. "But at the same time, he's not pitching poorly, for the most part. [Monday] night he did not pitch poorly, he merely ran up agaisnt one of the hottest pitchers in the game right now, and got no runs. So I worry somewhat, but the White Sox should sit him down and say: 'John, it's poor run support, it'll change, don't sweat it.'"
