School In Roselle Evacuated After Bomb Threat
ROSELLE, Ill. (CBS) -- Students at a northwest suburban high school were sent home Wednesday, after a series of bomb threats were called in to the school.
The threats were called in to the East Campus of Lake Park High School just before 9 a.m.
Roselle Police, the DuPage County Sheriff's Department, and other local police departments conducted a search of the school's campus, but a preliminary search did not find any dangerous devices, according to the school
After the preliminary search was conducted, all students were bussed home, or picked up by their parents. They were asked to leave their backpacks and other personal items at the school for additional searches.
All after school activities and sports at the East Campus were also cancelled for the day. The girls' basketball team was holding practice at the West Campus of Lake Park High School instead.
The West Campus was not affected by the bomb threat, and classes there continued as scheduled on Wednesday.
The school's Market Day distribution was scheduled to be held as planned at the West Campus at 5 p.m.
On Thursday, school will begin at 7:55 a.m. at the East Campus, when students should report to their second period classes to retrieve their backpacks and personal items, then report to their first period class.
Police were continuing their investigation Wednesday afternoon.
