Rose To See A Back Specialist

(CBS) When Derrick Rose sat out Friday's game in Charlotte, the assumption was that he was resting to make sure he was ready for Sunday's game against the Celtics.

So when Rose sat out Sunday's game in Boston, there was a resounding "uh oh" permeating throughout Chicago.

The Bulls point guard, who is battling back spasms and a toe injury, is scheduled to see a back specialist in Chicago Monday. He originally left last Monday's game in New Jersey with the back injury, but came back and played in New Orleans two days later. He has missed two games since.

"It just came from out of nowhere," Rose told the Chicago Tribune Sunday. "That's the scary thing about it. ... I could barely walk (after New Orleans). It's killing me not being able to play, especially this game, or when I do play my minutes are definitely down. Hopefully, I'll get treatments and it calms down. If not, I'll take my time."

Rose had similar back issues in high school.

"I remember in high school I didn't get any treatment or anything. I just knew I took a couple of days off, and I was able to play Downstate, and I didn't feel it. Hopefully, it's the same thing."
