Rose Still Questionable, But Gasol Expected To Go Against Jazz
(CBS) Bulls guard Derrick Rose is still questionable for tonight's game against the Utah Jazz, according to the Chicago Tribune. Rose was planning to test his strained left hamstring at the morning shootaround and then seeing how he felt before deciding to play.
"Right now it's just playing through the fatigue," Rose told the Tribune. "Hamstring injuries, when you hurt 'em, you've got to wait for them to heal. You've got to really test it while you're out there. And fatigue has something to do with it. I'm just trying to see if I can play through the fatigue."
Rose has sat out Chicago's past four games and missed eight of the team's 13 games this year with ankle and hamstring injuries.
More promising for the Bulls is the news that big man Pau Gasol is expected to return to the starting lineup. Gasol has missed three games with a strained left calf, but he's probable for tonight.
Guard Kirk Hinrich has been listed as doubtful by the team as he deals with a chest contusion. The Bulls will definitely be without power forward Taj Gibson, who has returned to Chicago to have his sprained left ankle looked at by team doctors. He suffered that injury in the second half of Friday's loss at Portland.
