Rose Practices, But Not Optimistic About Playing Thursday
(CBS) Derrick Rose practiced Wednesday at the Berto Center and is once again a game-time decision against the Celtics Thursday.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau said his point guard was improving and called his progress "encouraging", adding to the hope that he will return Thursday after missing nine straight games.
Unfortunately, Rose wasn't as optimistic.
"I felt good but me playing tomorrow, I don't know," he said. "I'm running, able to move a little bit more. So I'm getting healthy. Taking three weeks off, my conditioning is definitely a worry. But in basketball, you should be able to fight through it."
Rose said he's worried about coming back too quickly, which isn't exactly a good sign for a player who never wants to sit on the bench.
