Rose Regrets Playing On Injured Toe
(CBS) Derrick Rose sat out Friday's shootaround in Cleveland and while he wasn't ruled out of tonight's game against the Cavaliers, it doesn't look good.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Rose admitted Friday morning that his toe injury is worse than the one he suffered during his second season. He also said he has "a little regret" about playing in two games last weekend against Boston and Toronto after suffering the injury.
"Knowing that right when it starts feeling good it can go right back to zero, I have to make the smart decision," Rose told the Tribune. "I wasn't able to bend my toe in like three years. When this injury happened, I aggravated it and I played on it sooner. It was real bad.
"Injuries are going to happen. That's why I always get treatment. This is worse than my second season. That season, I just played through it but it wasn't that bad. Not being able to bend my toe in three years and somebody just forced their weight on my toe, it definitely hurt it."
Rose said he can't bend the toe right now, but added that he will try to go through warmups tonight. Head coach Tom Thibodeau said that if he is feeling good, he will play.
