Rose And Kobe In A Class By Themselves
As impressive as Derrick Rose's stats have been this season, his killer instinct and ability to take games under his control are what have solidified him as the MVP front runner.
And if Rose's history tell us anything, it's that no one should have been surprised that's developed, it was only a matter of time.
"If you talk to people who have known this guy for a long time, whatever situation he's been in, he's assimilated himself more assertively as he's gotten more comfortable with being there," K.C. Johnson, if the Chicago Tribune, said on the Danny Mac Show. "If you look at his time at Simeon, and he was really kind of a quiet guy, even though he had, obviously, the great great talent. Then by his senior year he was the dominant leader. I know he was only at Memphis for one season, but I've talked to people around that program who've said the arch of that one season was similar, in the sense that he was a little more reticent and timid early in the season, and then obviously was just taking over, on a good team, down the stretch of that season as they went to the championship game.
