Rose And Bulls 'Focused' On Catching Spurs
NEW YORK (WSCR) -- Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls have two things they want to accomplish before the regular season ends. And they can make ground on both of them by beating the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
The Bulls have already locked up the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed, but they're just one game behind the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the NBA.
If the Bulls and Spurs are tied at the regular season end, home-court advantage, should the two teams meet in the NBA Finals, will come down to a random draw, because all of the tiebreakers between the two teams are deadlocked.
"We're focused on it," Derrick Rose told K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune. "We know it's pretty close. Coach always says we're playing for something. So why not go for it?"
The Knicks represent the only team the Bulls haven't beat this season, and it's a chance for Rose and his teammates to get a little payback.
"It's going to be a fun game," Rose said. "They're coming back. This city is going crazy over them. We blew that game (on Christmas Day here.) We let them beat us with their strength, and that's shooting."
