Rose Plans To Play Vs Celtics
(CBS) Derrick Rose has told coaches and teammates that he plans to play tonight against the Celtics, but he will be a game time decision, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Rose was a limited participant in Friday morning's shootaround in Boston and wore a walking boot when it was over. Head coach Tom Thibodeau said the boot was a just a precaution. The point guard has a sprained toe, which he re-aggravated Tuesday night in Minnesota.
"We're hopeful," Thibodeau told the Tribune. "He's feeling a lot better. He'll warm up and we'll see if he can go. If he doesn't have any discomfort from this morning and feels like he's ready to go, he'll start."
If he doesn't, John Lucas III will receive his second straight start.
Meanwhile, it's still unlikely C.J. Watson or Richard Hamilton will return tonight. Thibodeau said Watson is closer than Hamilton.
