Rodman: Consider Me For Nobel Peace Prize
(CBS) Dennis Rodman is just trying to keep the peace.
That's why he embarked on a journey to North Korea in February to "smooth things over" in the communist country, even taking in a basketball game with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
For his efforts in international peacekeeping, the former NBA champion believes he deserves a prize.
In fact, he's looking for a Nobel Prize.
"Why it's been left to me to smooth things over, I don't know. Dennis Rodman, of all people," said the former NBA forward in an interview with Sports Illustrated. "But I'll tell you this: If I don't finish in the top three for the next Nobel Peace Prize, something's seriously wrong."
Rodman's international excursions aren't over yet - even though his trip abroad didn't sit well the with the American government. Rodman said he plans to visit Kim - his "friend for life" - again in August.
"I'm just gonna chill, play some basketball and maybe go on vacation with Kim and his family," Rodman said.
