Rockford Woman Sleeping In Car In Englewood To Find Missing Daughter
(CBS) -- A Rockford woman has been sleeping in her car in the Englewood neighborhood for the past week to find her missing daughter.
Mary Bohanan, a 20-year-old ward of the state who ran away from her state-run house, was last seen on April 27 in Englewood.
CBS 2's Brad Edwards spoke with the mother on a mission in this Original Report.
Mary Bohanan has been a ward of the state since 16.
"I trusted them at the beginning, that's what she needed that," Antoinette Bohanan said. "She needed intensive treatment."
Mary is bi-polar and has had prostitution troubles. DCFS confirms she's a ward of the state and missing. Citing confidentiality, they couldn't say more.
For a week now, Antoinette has been sleeping in her car.
In recent days she started working with community activist Andrew Holmes.
"I'm concerned for her safety of being out here anyway," Holmes said. "I have to help her try to find her daughter."
Sleepless nights in a cramped sedan.
"I'm starting to hear her voice in every lady that talks, cause I miss her so much," Antoinette said. "I hope I don't get a phone call that she's died."
It's a different form of hope and she soldiers on, searching for her Mary.
Mary Bohanan is 5'3", 170 pounds and has brown hair which may be dyed blonde.
