Rockford One Of Fattest Towns In United States
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Residents of Rockford: You are fat.
According to a Gallup study, more than a third of the people living in Rockford are obese. That puts the town No. 4 on the list of the nation's fattest metro areas. McAllen-Edinbugh-Mission, Texas ranks No. 1--where nearly 39 percent of its townsfolk are obese.
Boulder, Colo., residents are the skinniest--with an obesity rate of around 12 percent.
Gallup said it used Americans' self-reported height and weight to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI). A BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese.
