Robbery Suspects Arrested On South Shore Train
OGDEN DUNES, Ind. (CBS) -- Three robbery suspects who tried to elude police by boarding a South Shore train heading to Chicago were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at the Portage/Ogden Dunes station, the Post-Tribune is reporting.
Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District Police Chief Bob Byrd said he received a call that suspects in a convenience store robbery in South Bend had boarded the westbound train.
Officers from Portage and Ogden Dunes were dispatched to the station to handle the incident.
A witness on the train said two men and a woman were handcuffed and led off the train by a large contingent of police.
The suspects were taken back to South Bend, Byrd said.
