Robbers Armed With Taser Nabbed In Edgewater

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man and a woman from the South Side who were armed with a Taser are charged with robbing a woman in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side early Tuesday.
Tony Windmon, 20, of the 6700 block of South Marshfield Avenue, and Linda Warner, 18, of the 7300 block of South Peoria Avenue, are charged with one count each of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
On Wednesday, Windmon was ordered held on $90,000, while bond was set at $75,000 for Warner, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said. Both will appear for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 26.
The attack happened at 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of West Argyle Avenue when Windmon allegedly let Warner out of a dark colored Honda and she confronted a 23-year-old woman, according to a police report.
Warner, who had a black Taser device in her hand, allegedly said: "Give me your s---, now, right now,'' according to the report.
Warner allegedly pointed the device at the victim as if she was going to Tase her and then robbed her. The suspects then fled north in the Honda.
Shortly after the attack, patrol officers heard a flash message that included a description of the suspects. The man and woman and the Honda were found and arrested at 3:25 a.m. at a BP gas station in the 5200 block of North Broadway, according to police.
The victim's credit card, insurance card, a CTA bus card were found under the Honda while the victim's camera, iPod nano, and sunglasses were found in the glovebox of the Honda, according to the report. The victim's scarf was found inside the car.
Windmon allegedly told officers that the Taser, which was also recovered, belonged to Warner's mother.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
