Robber Shot By Clerk Faces Felony Charges
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who was shot as he tried to rob a North Side store was charged Tuesday with felony counts of armed robbery and aggravated battery.
Lawrence Bradley, 25, of the 15200 block of South Evers Avenue in south suburban Dolton, allegedly used a handgun in an attempt to rob a store in the 2900 block of West Devon Avenue about 5:40 p.m. Monday, police said.
An employee shot the would-be robber, and the man fled the scene, police said.
The man was taken into custody about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday when he walked into Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare in Hammond, Ind. to seek treatment for multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Bradley is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
