Robber In Batman Mask Crashes Into 2 Vehicles
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man who reportedly wore a Batman face mask while he attempted to rob another man in Edgewater was arrested after he crashed the car he was driving into two vehicles in Rogers Park as he fled the scene Sunday night on the North Side, police said.
The man, reportedly in his 30s, was wearing a Batman face mask when he approached another man near the intersection of North Clark Street and West Catalpa Avenue and attempted to rob him on Halloween Sunday night, Lincoln District police said.
He did not have a gun and did not get away with any money or property when he jumped into a 1990 Toyota Camry and hit a parked car and then another moving vehicle in the 7500 block of North Sheridan Road as he fled the scene, police said. He was arrested at the car crash scene about 10:50 p.m.
No one was hurt in the entire incident, police said.
He was not charged as of 4:30 a.m. Monday, but an attempted strong-armed robbery charge is expected, police said.
