Road Rage Incident Leaves One Man Dead
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A case of road rage ended in murder. And a 61-year-old man is now being questioned by police. It all started on Indianapolis Boulevard near the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond. CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports.
Today friends gathered in front of 23-year-old Montrell Moss' home. Moss was killed last night in a road rage incident.
"He was just laid back, real honest man. He was always a family person. Kept his family first, kept his neighborhood first. I just can't see this happening to him," Michael Carruthers said, a friend of Moss'.
A witness told Hammond police Moss was cut off twice by a man driving a gold Chevy Venture van, northbound on Indianapolis Boulevard. After the second time he was cut off, Moss threw a cup of water at the van.
The van driver pulled out a 9 mm gun, shooting Moss in the neck. Moss then drove his car into a gas pump at a nearby gas station. He died there at the scene.
