Road Games Will Make Or Break Blackhawks' Season
The Chicago Blackhawks will spend the majority of their remaining schedule on the road. And the good news is, so far they've played well away from Chicago.
"Building some consistency in games and streaks of games is what we're looking for," Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said of the team's focus for the rest of the season. "We have to have our best games going forward."
After struggling at times in the first half of the season, they're still seventh in the Western Conference with 56 points. They're four points out fourth place, but in the super competitive conference they're also only five points ahead of the 14th place team.
The conference show no signs of slowing down, so the Blackhawks will have to win games to ensure they reach the postseason, and a lot of those wins will have to come on the road.
"We have a great test, in playing on the road for the majority of the season [left]," Quenneville said. "And it's going to make or break us going into it."
To this point in the season, the Blackhawks are 10-7-4 on the road, earning 24 of the possible 42 points. A good record, but with so many road games left they'll have to do better.
20 of the remaining 32 games the Blackhawks will play will be away from the United Center.
