Reynolds: Dunn Will Bounce Back In 2012

(WSCR) With a new season rapidly approaching, no other player is looking to turn the page faster than White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn.

Dunn struggled mightily after signing his four-year, $56 million deal with the White Sox, batting just .159 with 11 home runs.

"Adam Dunn is a big key," Harold Reynolds of the MLB Network told The Mully and Hanley Show. "He's really changed some things. I think he's really going to come back and have a bounce-back year. Last year, you just throw that out of the window. I think he'll bounce back and that club is going to be better."

Leading Dunn and the White Sox will be first-year manager Robin Ventura. The hiring of Ventura was underwhelming for some South Side fans, as he had no real managerial experience.

Still, Reynolds thinks Ventura will surprise his critics this season.

"Robin has been great," Reynolds said. "I think the media is going to love him. The team has really taken to Robin's approach. He's not as laid back as people might think. He'll get on you. He's run a pretty good camp out there."

Reynolds also believes fans will see a new Alex Rios at the plate.

"Alex Rios has changed his whole stance," Reynolds said. "If you remember, he used to hold his hands way low, down by his waist. He went home last winter, looked at tapes of '06 and '07, got his hands back up and now he's swinging the bat."
