Reward Offered In Murder Of Elgin Woman

ELGIN, Ill. (CBS) -- A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the killer of a performance artist who was found stabbed to death in her Elgin townhouse March 2.

The money has been raised entirely by friends of Lisa Koziol-Ellis, the woman who hosted and performed alt burlesque, sketched and designed jewelry under the name of Foxy Goat Lisa. Her husband Dash cried at times as he said they'd moved to Elgin less than two weeks ago in part to be "somewhere safe."

"She was the most amazing person I have ever met," he said. "She was kind and generous and loving. She was an artist, just a beautiful person."

Ellis discovered his wife's body when he returned from his customer service job early March 2. They had moved to the townhouse, on Garden Crescent Court, the previous Wednesday.

Elgin Police Lt. Sean Rafferty said detective have received "dozens" of calls offering information, and continue to follow each potential lead. But he refused to say if they believe police are close to solving the case or even if the knife used in the murder has been found. He said police are working the case around-the-clock.

The murder was the first in Elgin this year. Two people were murdered in Elgin in 2012 and five in 2011.
