Remy the dog - the 3-and-a-half-year-old shih-tzu-poodle mix - was taken from the home of a Woodridge family on January 7.
Now police say an anonymous donor is offering a $500 reward for Remy's safe return.
Woodridge Police say Remy and his grey metal crate were stolen from the home in the 6700 block of Harvest - along with an e-reader, several bottles of liquor and tea cups.
The Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society has offered to be the go-between - no questions asked - if whoever took Remy will get in touch with them and give Remy back.
Remy is mostly black with some white spots. Woodridge Police: 630-719-4740 Anti-Cruelty Society: 312-645-8001
