First an anonymous donor offered $500 for Remy's safe return. Then, others got inspired.
"I'm a dog lover and I just heard your story on WBBM, and I think it's outrageous that somebody took this poor family's dog. And I know what dogs mean to a family," said another donor, who identified himself as Joe from Highland Park. "So, I would like to match the reward that's already being offered."
The Woodridge police say Joe is legit and that others have called in offering reward money. Now the reward for the safe return of Remy is $1,500.
The Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society is offering to be a go-between in the dog's safe return, a spokeswoman says. No questions asked.
