Reports: Tim Jennings Misses First Day Of Camp To Resolve DUI Case
(CBS) Bears cornerback Tim Jennings was absent Thursday from the team's first training camp practice in Bourbonnais, reportedly because he was in Georgia to resolve a DUI case stemming from a January arrest.
In a plea deal, Jennings plead guilty to reckless driving in exchange for the DUI charge being dropped, according to TMZ. That news was confirmed by WGN's Adam Hoge.
Jennings was arrested on Jan. 7 by Gwinnett County police on charges of speeding, reckless driving and DUI. Jennings was driving 99 mph in a 65-mph zone, according to police officials. Jennings said he was running late on his way to a parent-teacher conference. He has denied the DUI charge all along.
Jennings is expected to be back at Bears practice Friday. He projects as a starting cornerback for Chicago and is a two-time Pro Bowler. He signed a four-year, $22.4-million deal last in January 2014.
