Reports: Adrian Peterson Admits To Marijuana Use In Violation Of Bond Conditions
(CBS) In a terrible look for a man who is facing child abuse charges, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has admitted to using marijuana recently, which is a violation of the conditions of his bond, according to multiple reports.
Prosecutors in Montgomery, Texas, now reportedly want Peterson arrested again ahead of the the start of his trial, which is tentatively set for Dec. 1, as he's been accused of whipping his 4-year-old son with a switch that left welts on the child's body. While Peterson's free on bond, he must submit to drug tests, and multiple outlets, including TMZ, reported that he told one of the workers of the testing company that he had used weed. It's still not clear if the test has come back positive. He submitted the urine sample Wednesday.
"In light of this statement, and the fact that it was made during the urinalysis testing process, and the term 'weed' is a common slang term for marijuana, the State urges the defendant has smoked marijuana while on bond for the current offense," the court document reads, according to the Houston Chronicle.
