Report: Yankees Place Claim On Pena
(CBS) The Yankees have placed a claim on Cubs first baseman Carlos Pena, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.
The Cubs now have 48 hours to either work out a deal with Yankees, pull Pena off waivers, or let the Yankees have the first baseman and the remainder of his contract.
Pena is currently hitting .222 with 23 home runs this season.
