Report: Wootton To Miss 4 Weeks With Knee Injury
(CBS) Defensive end Corey Wootton will miss at least four weeks with meniscus damage to his right knee, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Wootton hurt his knee on the opening kickoff Saturday night against the Bills and the report says he will have arthroscopic surgery on his knee Tuesday.
The backup defensive end was having a good training camp and had received praise for being in great shape. With Wootton being shelved for the rest of the preseason, Vernon Gholston will get more opportunities to showcase himself in an effort to make the 53-man roster.
