Report: Williams Mum On Rumored Move To Team President
(CBS) According to a USA Today report, Kenny Williams is set to take a new role as White Sox President in 2013, with assistant general manager Rick Hahn moving up to GM.
The move has been rumored for the last couple of seasons and would come as no surprise. Just last month, Williams discussed how he struggles to enjoy the day-to-day grind of the job.
Still, the White Sox GM wasn't ready to confirm the move Thursday.
"No one's 2013 status, not even mine, will be discussed while we are singularly focused on winning a Championship and more immediately, tonight's game," Williams told the Chicago Tribune in an e-mail.
The move would give Hahn more of the day-to-day duties of the general manager job, while keeping Williams in charge of baseball operations.
