Report: White Sox Sign Ex-Cub Doug Davis
(CBS) According to a report, the Chicago White Sox have signed former Chicago Cub Doug Davis to a Minor League contract.
MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez is reporting that Davis will head to Triple-A Charlotte to "provide depth to the rotation at the Minor League level."
Davis, a left-hander, was signed by the Cubs as a free agent in April, but was released on June 29 after going 1-7 with a 6.50 ERA in nine starts.
He has a career 92-108 record with a 4.44 ERA in 13 big league seasons with the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cubs.
