White Sox Get Youkilis In Trade
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The White Sox have landed third baseman Kevin Youkilis from the Boston Red Sox, in exchange for infielder Brent Lillibridge and pitcher Zach Stewart.
Youkilis, 33, is a former three-time All-Star, with a .286 career batting average, 239 doubles, 133 home runs, 563 RBI and 594 runs scored.

Although Youkilis was hitting only .225 with four homers and 13 RBI in 41 games this year, he still represents a likely upgrade from the offensive production the White Sox had been getting from Brent Morel and Orlando Hudson. Morel was hitting only .177 with no home runs and 5 RBI in 35 games before going down with a back injury. Hudson was hitting only .167 with one homer and 11 RBI for the Sox.
Lillibridge, 28, was hitting .175 with no home runs, two RBI and seven stolen bases in 48 games as a utility player for the Sox this season.
Stewart, 25, went 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA in 18 games with the White Sox this season before being sent down to the minors last week.
