Report: White Sox 'Checked In' On Clayton Richard
(CBS) The White Sox "checked in" on Padres left-hander Clayton Richard, according to FOXSports.com's Jon Morosi.
Richard, who the White Sox drafted in the eighth round of the 2005 amateur draft, was sent to San Diego in the Jake Peavy trade back in 2009.
The Tigers and Orioles also inquired about Richard, according to the report, but it's unclear how serious the trade talks are for all three teams that have shown interest.
Richard is 6-10 with a 3.83 ERA this season. In his career, he's 36-38 with a 4.12 ERA, but is 30-30 with a 3.84 ERA in San Diego.
Before being traded by the White Sox, Richard was 6-8 with a 5.14 ERA on the South Side.
