White Sox Call Up Viciedo; Quentin Heads To DL
CHICAGO (CBS) -- White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin, who injured his shoulder last Saturday making a diving catch, will be replaced by Triple-A Charlotte outfielder Dayan Viciedo, Ozzie Guillen confirmed Friday night in Seattle.
Quentin said he'll be on the 15-day disabled list after trying out his injured shoulder in batting practice.
Viciedo has put up some impressive numbers for Charlotte, and White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen says he could help Chicago stay in contention. Guillen said he would consider putting Viciedo at first base, rather than the outfield.
