Report: Warriors The Latest Team To Be Interested In Thibodeau
(CBS) Until Tom Thibodeau or the Bulls decide to put a stop to the speculation with a simple statement, you will continue to hear whispers about the coach getting looks from other NBA teams.
And the latest came this afternoon, shortly after the Warriors fired Mark Jackson following his three successful-but-tumultuous seasons in Golden State.
The Warriors have Thibodeau on their list of possible targets, according to a report from Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
"The possibility of reaching out to the Chicago Bulls for permission to speak with coach Tom Thibodeau will also be a consideration," Wojnarowski wrote.
It should be noted that the Warriors' top targets are Steve Kerr and Stan Van Gundy, according to Wojnarowski.
Nevertheless, the fact that Thibodeau's name keeps popping up for teams with vacancies is telling. It's well-documented that Thibodeau and the Bulls' front office has had a frosty relationship at times, and last week it was reported that the Lakers would attempt to contact him regarding their coaching opening.
After being an NBA assistant for years, Thibodeau has been the coach in Chicago for the last four. His current contract runs through the end of the 2016-'17 season.
