Report: Top College Pitching Prospect Gray Tests Postive For Adderall
(CBS) -- Right-handed pitcher Jonathan Gray, one of the top prospects available in the MLB draft, tested positive for the stimulant Adderall, according to a report by CBS Sports reporter Jon Heyman.
According to the report, the test results are sent to all 30 teams and there is no penalty for draft-eligible players for testing positive for a stimulant. MLB players who test positive receive a 25-game ban.
MLB does provide exemptions to allow players to use certain banned drugs for medical reasons.
The junior out of Oklahoma has been projected to go in the first three picks in Thursday's MLB amateur draft. The Cubs own the second overall draft pick.
