Terrelle Pryor Leaving Ohio State

CHICAGO (CBS) Terrelle Pryor's career at Ohio State is over, the university confirmed Tuesday.
The decision by the former Buckeyes quarterback was first reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"I was notified this evening that Terrelle has decided to pursue a professional career. I wish him the best in his pursuits," interim Buckeyes head coach Luke Fickell said in a statement.
Pryor's collegiate career has fallen apart over the last six months after he was suspended five games in 2011 for trading Ohio State memorabilia for tattoos, which is against NCAA rules. Things got even worse after a Sports Illustrated report released last week alleged Pryor also was accepting cars from a local dealership. The NCAA has since launched an investigation into that claim.
All of these incidents occurred under the watch of head coach Jim Tressel, who resigned May 30 as a result.
Pryor may enter the NFL supplemental draft, which at this point has not been scheduled due to the lockout.
"We understand Terrelle's decision and wish him well in this next phase of his life. We hope he returns to The Ohio State University one day to finish his degree," OSU Athletic Director Gene Smith said in a statement.
