Sharp Out 3-4 Weeks With Shoulder Separation
(CBS) The news on Patrick Sharp isn't good, but it could have been worse.
Head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed Friday that Sharp will miss three to four weeks of action, but added that the winger did not need surgery. TSN in Canada specified the injury as a severe AC joint shoulder separation.
Sharp was hurt in the third period of Wednesday night's win over the Avalanche when Sharp was hit against the boards by Colorado defenseman Ryan O'Byrne.
Meanwhile, the Blackhawks received good news elsewhere on the roster as forwards Marian Hossa (upper body), Andrew Shaw (upper body) and Michael Frolik (illness) are all good to go tonight when the Hawks take on the Avalanche in Colorado..
Brandon Bollig was recalled from Rockford for the game, although he'll likely be a scratch now. A corresponding move has yet to be announced.
Corey Crawford will start in net.
