Report: Sandusky's Abuse Goes Back To 1970s
(CBS) One of Jerry Sandusky's victims says the former Penn State coach's sexual abuse of children goes all the way back to the 1970s, according to The Patriot News.
The report says Sandusky's nationally televised interview on NBC led to many former victims coming forth after hearing their abuser's face and voice on television.
"Hearing his voice and his words proclaiming no wrong — while admitting he showered innocently with young boys — was a trigger for some who say they were abused by the former Penn State defensive coordinator," the report says. "One said it went back to the 1970s, around the time Sandusky founded the charity that prosecutors say was his axis for finding victims."
Authorities have set up a tip line for the case, but haven't said how many new victims have come forward. According to the report, they denied claims by the New York Times that there were as many as 10 new victims.
