Report: Saints' Loomis Eavesdropped On Opposing Coaches
(WSCR) The Saints offseason turmoil took another turn Monday afternoon when reports surfaced that soon-to-be suspended Saints GM Mickey Loomis had an electronic device in his Superdome suite that enabled him to eavesdrop on opposing coaches.
According to a report from ESPN's Outside the Lines, the device was originally installed to allow a listener to overhear the New Orleans coaching staff but was altered to allow Loomis to listen to visiting teams during 2002-04 seasons.
USA Today reports Loomis may not have only broken NFL rules but could also be in hot water with federal law enforcement for violating the Electronic Communications Privacy Act which prohibits electronic eavesdropping.
The Saints, however, adamantly deny ESPN's report.
"This is 1,000% false. This is 1,000% inaccurate," said Saints spokesman Greg Bensel.
