Report: Rose Practices, Likely To Face Heat

(WSCR) After missing one game with an ankle injury, early reports indicate Derrick Rose is likely to play in Thursday's game against the Heat.

"He's fine," coach Tom Thibodeau told the Chicago Tribune. "He went through practice and we'll see where he is (Thursday). He'll be game-time again.

"When he's healthy, he can go. He probably could've gone last night but we wanted to be safe with it. He's feeling a lot better. All the swelling is out so that's good."

Rose missed his 23rd game of the season Tuesday night in the Bulls win over the Knicks. The team is 16-7 without their star MVP, and Thibodeau said resting Rose last night was the right thing to do.

"I just think it was the smart thing to do," Thibodeau said. "If we're going to err, we're going to err on the side of caution. He wanted to play. We felt it best that he didn't."
