Rose A Passenger In DUI Arrest Of Friend
(CBS) Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was the passenger in a car pulled over for a DUI early Friday morning.
Rose was with close friend and personal assistant Randall Hampton in Los Angeles when the car was pulled over. Hampton was given a field sobriety test then arrested on suspicion of DUI, Los Angeles police said.
Rose, the reigning MVP, was not arrested, but returned to the police station to check on his friend.
Hampton, 23, was arrested for a misdemeanor at 2 a.m. by the West Traffic Division officers in Hollywood.
Hampton's bail amount was set at $5,000, and he was released at 6:10 a.m. Hampton's Los Angeles DUI Lawyer refused to comment.
Video captured by TMZ, which first reported the incident, shows Rose inside the police station, checking his phone. He then walked out and refused to respond to questions from the TMZ videographer.
Hampton and Rose played basketball together at Simeon High School.
