Rangers To Stop Showing Video Of Ventura-Ryan Fight
(WSCR) It has been nearly 20 years since the infamous brawl between the new White Sox manager Robin Ventura and Rangers president Nolan Ryan.
But up until now, the video of this fight was played before the start of every Rangers game.
Now that Ventura is back in baseball, though, the team has decided to stop running the video.
"I also don't think it's right for us on our opening day to show a fight, and then that whole weekend we're going to treat Robin Ventura with respect," [public address announcer Chuck] Morgan said, according to a report. "He's the manager of the White Sox. We don't need to do anything like that."
The White Sox open up their season in Arlington against the Rangers on April 6.
