Report: Prince Fielder Signs With Tigers
(CBS) Prince Fielder has agreed to a deal with the Detroit Tigers, according to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman.
Fielder has agreed to a nine-year, $214 million deal with Detroit, who weren't considered one of the favorites to land the ex-Brewers slugger. The Nationals and Rangers were reportedly battling for Fielder's services in recent days.
Prince goes to Detroit where his father, Cecil, once starred.
Heyman reports that Prince will be the first baseman in Detroit and Miguel Cabrera will have to move positions or be the designated hitter.
